Send your Resume to [email protected] Job Description The AWS Cloud/Devops Engineer will be working with the engineering team and focusing on AWS infrastructure and automation.  A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code.  The Engineer will work closely with the Manager of Operations and Devops to build, manage and automate our AWS infrastructure.  Duties & Responsibilities: Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization Qualifications: At least 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3) Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements Expertise using Chef for configuration management Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK and deploying applications on AWS Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools Strong bias for action and ownership Bonus Previous exposure to healthcare domain and security needs Previous startup experience would be a huge plus Latent desire and/or curiosity in related domain like software development, front-end engineering, security or project management Request a Demo . ×

Lack of legacy complex application makes it a bit easier to manage and build an amazing fault-tolerant system, thanks to ever-growing kickass services launched by these public cloud companies.AWS Cloud engineers are mostly new generation operation engineers, who started their careers in AWS and they do it pretty well, on the other hand, in the case of Azure it's pretty much various Microsoft product administrators are moving to cloud-based services.So I think, you are starting from zero, then getting up to the speed with AWS will be much easier than Azure, for simple reason Azure has been build to cater to Enterprise customers, on the other hand, AWS is designed to KIS philosophy, which is predominant any Amazon product.I would say if you are looking hire a Cloud Engineer, first, you need to pick for which cloudPrivate Cloud ( VMware Admins ) — I know private cloud admins are not called Cloud engineer, they are still called VMware admin. But its a matter of time, when this role will eventually get rebranded.AWS — Person should have at least the Solution Architect Cert.Azure — You are looking at AZ 301 at least, to begin with.GCP/Oracle — Either AWS and Azure Cert should suffice here.What about Hybrid CloudThe mono-cloud setup is very common in startup scenarios, where you begin your life on AWS and probably you will stay there for a long period of time.However, the story for the enterprise is completely different. Enterprise has to carry the baggage of massive on-prem infrastructure, applications, and middleware which was built during golden ages (the 90s ) and running when nobody knew what cloud was.In the case of the Hybrid cloud, you are looking to add Cloud & DevOps both along with your existing System admins to help you go through the painful but yet, rewarding cloud migration.
